Kids and the Law: A User's Guide to the Court System
Cambridge Juvenile Court

Cambridge Juvenile Court House

This book answers, in a simple question-and-answer format with bi-lingual facing pages, questions related to juvenile court involvement in Massachusetts.

In 2002, ACS updated the third Spanish/English edition of the book, and published the first Khmer/English edition in response to the growing need in the Cambodian community.

About

In 1996, Adolescent Consultation Services (ACS) began publishing Kids and the Law: A User's Guide to the Court System, a book co-authored by Rebecca Pries, ACS Executive Director, and Carol Rosenweig, an attorney who represents court-involved children.

This bi-lingual guide to the court system is currently being used by:

  • families of court-involved youth,
  • schools,
  • colleges,
  • probation departments,
  • lawyers representing court-involved youth,
  • hospitals,
  • libraries,
  • and a broad spectrum of professionals who work with children and families.

Purchasing

The volumes can be purchased for $10.00 each.  For communities or individuals serving a variety of populations, we also offer a multicultural set (one Spanish/English book and one Khmer/English book) for $15.00.  Other volume discounts are available.
